Buncombe County, NC (October 30, 2018) – In Buncombe County on Sunday afternoon, October 28, the driver of a motorcycle lost his life in a serious motorcycle accident. The accident took place along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Police were called to the scene by Blue Ridge Parkway rangers around 3:30 p.m. near the Tanbark Ridge Parking Overlook. Rangers said that a vehicle had been turning left at the time when a motorcyclist suddenly struck the vehicle headed from the other direction.

The driver of the motorcycle was killed at the scene of the accident. Nobody else was injured. Police have since identified the motorcyclist as 30-year-old Shaela Lee Christner.

Police are still investigating the accident at this time.
